Wow JJ! You've really outdone yourself with this one right here. That was absolutely the best update, really! I was pleased to see Diya voice her feelings on this situation, but was also equally please to hear more from Brandon. He's very passionate, but a man of very few words, so it was nice to hear more from him and how he's feeling. Don't get me wrong, I'm still in my feelings on how he's doing my girl Diya dirty, but at the same time, it sounds as if he has a lot of his own ish to deal with. Brandon stay on the pot calling the kettle Black! Still, I'm sorry to hear all the drama that I'm pretty sure Diya's dad is responsible for. I wonder who is trying to off Killa-Cammila?!?! Awwwww ... I sure hope her mean ass pulls through.

Writing and editing is still a struggle. But I'm determined to get this story told.
Brandon is dealing with ALOT and not accustom to complete candor and balancing a romantic relationship with the one he has with Marisol. And Diya has no idea what she's getting herself into with Tyler. So you know it's about to get super messy.
That and Killa Camilla's (lol!) fate will be addressed in future chapters. Stay tuned...

I'm tripping that Rafe is trying to show his ass and he doesn't even k is Diyas side of the story, but I'm know he's aware of Marisols/Brandon's crazy relationship. Brandon seems to not be accepting any of the blame in this and has the nerve to still protect his Marisol. Stay strong Di, and I'm glad to see that you stood your ground. Rafe is biased, but he ain't blind. He had a front row seat to all that happened with Brandon and Marisol, and doesn't want to see his friend go through another heartache. But, between Brandon's devotion to Marisol and Diya unwillingness to accept it, heartache seems inevitable.

Yeah, there are ticking time bombs on both ends of this. Katherine knows her son well. But she's also very fond of Diya and has an affinity for telling Brandon the unvarnished truth. So it's a toss up. Either way, there will be severe consequences for what happened. Let's hope Diya and Brandon can weather them.

While understandably, I can't imagine what Brandon is thinking given the state Diya is in right now, Di just can't get a break. She is lured into this dangerous situation by that no good mf'a Tyler. She is beat down, violated, and almost raped by that dirty assed Hollis. She, had to endure the painful and embarrassing drive home with Brandon's parents (and I can't even imagine what they're thinking). Only to come home thinking she would be able to break down and regroup in peace, only to find her man laying in wait ready to accuse her after he played daddy day care with his first, and what it seems only love who he was going to off himself for. What. In. The. Hell?!?! π©. That's enough to make anyone go completely nuts! On top of that dealing with her own mess of a family. Damn girl! Is there anyone that she can truly confide in? I dunno ... Zeria maybe?
I wonder if maybe Tyler pulled up the same ish that he tried it to pull with Diya with Marisol. Only, maybe it was mission accomplished with her, and that's the tape Tyler showed her? Is that how his dad had a clue of what had happened? They'd done this already in the past? I don't think Tyler tried to help Diya when he pulled Hollis off of her, his intention was rape and not a murder, and that's the only reason he pulled him off (that mf'a π€¬). Does he hate his brother that much to pull this kind of mess? I just don't get it.
Anyway, Diya and Brandon need to have an open heart to heart talk and decide if it's all worth it or go their separate ways. Seems they spend more time away from each other than together. Branny spends his free time with Marisol all the freaking time! π‘
I'm conflicted on what she should do about this attempted rape. Turn those mf'as in or let Branny (or Pooh and 'nem) kill their asses! Stay strong strong Diya!

What a wonderfully accurate summary of the unadulterated misery poor Diya has endured. Unfortunately, there will be more to come. The people she loves know just how to hurt her without even necessarily trying.
To answer your questions, Gary knew Tyler was up to no good because he saw the state Diya was in and knows his son. As for exactly what went down with Tyler and Marisol, that will be covering in the not so distant future, along with the reasoning behind him pulling the old withered predator off Diya.
What should be done about the assault is a tough one. Because Brandon it guaranteed prison bound if he finds out. Unless, of course, he shows some uncharacteristic restraint and premeditates Tyler and Hollis's murder carefully enough not to get caught.
As for Zeria, can Diya confide in her?

He was the support system that I was expecting from Zeira. Sounds like Mannie is fed up with her antics (and I totally see why).
I hope Diya can get herself in the right head space during this time. Unfortunately, I'm sure her self-isolation is sparking more questions for everyone involved (Brandon, her family, and friends). I'm curious to see what her conversation will be like when she and Brandon see each other. Will she confront him about her feelings regarding his and Marisol's relationship? I wonder if her trip to the police station will make it's way back to daddy De La Roy? It's been trying times for a lot of folks, but seeing this update sure shed some light in my day. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Diya. Seems the only person who is a true friend to her is Mannie. I wonder what Brandy knows, and why the heck is she getting calls from Tyler's phone?! Unfortunately, the one person who always had her back is acting like an ass with a huge ego. He needs to grow up and loosen the reigns a bit on his daughters.
So, Diya has decided to call it quits between her and Brandon huh? Will she have a discussion with him about it? I understand her hurt behind the assault and attempted rape. Also this BS with Marisol too. I can't say that I don't blame her. Maybe if she had a conversation with him and got some things off her check it may help a bit mentally. She should probably see a therapist about the most recent assault, the Pre-Brandon assault, and her crazy asses family. She'd have a shit ton to talk about, for sure.
Have Mannie and Zeira called it quits too? He seemed to be pretty fed up with her shit.

Diya needs to book a multitude of sessions with a qualified professional. Unfortunately, she's too in the mire to see it. Brandon, and his continued ties with Marisol, and her family aren't helping. As you pointed out, Mannie is trying his best to be there for her. But that comes with its own set of complications.

Reviewer: Musicluva Signed I think Rae should "woman-up" and be honest about how she feels to Kwasame. She's most definitely not feeling him, so she shouldn't waste both of their time. Rae knows she hasn't gotten over her relationship with Hirito, but she's just not willing to admit it. The fact that she won't lay the ring to rest proves that, so she shouldn't lead him on. He's already feeling some kinda way about her wearing another other man's ring, and in my opinion, rightfully so. She gave him a choice, and he should make the best decision for himself. Either accept it, or keep it moving. After their last encounter, I can't see much of any good in the development of their relationship.

With Kwasame, she admitted that neither of them were truly happy and they shouldn't hold each other back from finding true happiness. With Hirito, although I'm sure it had to hurt like hell to hear that he was getting married, she made the decision for herself to move on, (at least mentally ... I'm not so convinced that's what was in her heart ).
