Title: Chapter 13: Rule #10: No More Games

I read all of this story last night and this morning.

I like Adam. I'm not so sure about Shaun. Listening to her so called friend Celia is the worst thing she could do. Adam is a jerk for saying what he did in the article but he doesn't deserve this. Adam is a lot of things but he has not purposefully misrepresented himself as Shaun has. No, she's outright lying.

Celia is not her friend. Shaun never seems to feel good after a conversation with her. She's toxic. She and Celia are two different people so why is she listening to her? Well, some of the advice was okay (I.e. the bit about saying no). Celia isn't even married or in a serious relationship. Celia proved she wasn't a friend when she sent that email. She may have even rewrote the article.

Adam may have been okay with her writing the article if she'd told him at the beginning of their "relationship." It was exactly what he needed -- positive press from a black woman.

Title: Chapter 15: "Are hose and garter your normal Friday night get-up?”

I'm fairly sure she didn't need the warning that Maxim was bad news bear. He doesn't even know her and he does a line. He'll probably try to get her to do a threesome next.

Title: Chapter 16: “If anything happens to her I swear to god I’ll fucking kill you.”

Adam is a jerk! He suddenly has a conscious after deflowering her?! Oh whatever dude.

She should take the job. She should at least try to get a fresh start. Adam is rich; he can afford to fly to NY.

Title: Chapter 17: Chapter 16

Sasha did have a set down coming from Dmitri but she did not deserve the nastiness he spewed on her. I'm glad she gave herself some closure with this confrontation. She tried to help him; he acted as if she slipped arsenic in the girl's ex-lax. If he really loved her, he would never have spoken to her in such a manner. Yes, he has a right to be upset but he tripped out on her like she was some trashy woman on the street. He showed his true colors.

I hope Sasha finds someone that really loves her.

Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 21

Sasha did not deserve Dmitiri's nasty hateful spew three years ago. She was wrong to do what she did but his reaction was over the top. He would never have treated her like some $20 hooker that wouldn't leave. He would not have humiliated her in front of everyone like that. That just doesn't sit right with me. She shouldn't hold a grudge but that doesn't mean she forgets. She should keep moving forward. Dmitri is a step backwards; he's her past.

Summary:

I am currently NOT working on this story and don't know when I will be again. Writing this takes a toll on me and I have kinda been posting other things here. Give them a looksie. :]

Kensington's battered body ached from abuse, each blow recieved slowly tearing her apart. She was drowning in the hell that once used to be her home until a mysterious stranger comes along. Will he be the one restrore Kensington's faith in the world?

Heads up: The beginning (meaning the first few chapters)  of this story is a bit DARK. If you are of a faint heart than I fear this story is not going to be appealing to you.

Well, the food issue is fairly easy to solve. Plenty of churches and food banks could resolve that.

I'm not sure why she hasn't tried to emancipate herself or call cps. She must be receiving social security from her mother.

Title: Chapter 15: You're Not Alone

I like this story. My favorite character is Michael. Celeste never asks the right questions. Why would she think that little girl would play in a room filled with Zs? A normal person would've immediately asked who the girl was hiding from.

Title: Chapter 13: Phase II

Okayyy. Celeste kind of brought this on herself. She didn't ask why she was unconscious when she first arrived. They kept saying she was super important and she never really asked the right questions (or listened to what they were NOT telling her). I thought it was pretty obvious they wanted her for something she would not agree to. Plus, they were keeping her prisoner!

Title: Chapter 10: Changes, Honesty, and Tears…

Tess absolutely deserved the cold shoulder from Jay but love gives you more than what you deserve. Love allows for forgiveness. ;)

Jay isn't good for Tess. Yes, she acted like an 8th grader in a love triangle. Jay's reaction was completely justified but it could've been different. He was very focus on his feelings if betrayal. He could've forgiven Tess and helped her forgive herself for backsliding. He could've asked her to seek counseling. He could've helped her. Tess didn't deserve any consideration from Jay but if he loved her like he said then he would not have let her go.

Title: Chapter 6: Bow down...

Wow. Jay should've called security as soon as he saw what Toni was doing. He should have told her she was fired and had security come escort her out.

That whole Disclosure-esque scene could've been avoided if he had heeded everyone's warnings. Jay invited this drama.

Toni is crazy. Tess is crazy too. Lol. I wouldn't have beat up Toni. She would've been just as shocked and outraged if Tess came in there cool as a cucumber and fired her. Toni will be back. That beat down won't stop her. She probably thinks Jay is with Tess because of her status in the firm.

Title: Chapter 5: Bitter Cold...

Alright, I'm ready to wash my hands of Jay. He can't seem to think beyond his needs. He's a hypocrite too. He told Toni all his business. He basically complained about his wife -- talked smack about her. Some women would think that was an invitation. He's playing both sides of the fence. He told Toni to be professional when he was anything but professional during that conversation.

Honestly, Tess and Jay should probably go to a marriage counselor because they have poor conflict resolution.

Jay knows that Toni bothers Tess. Why hasn't he dismissed her? He's foul. Between the two of them they could've had her hooked up with another position at a different accounting firm. He can get a temp from Robert Half or wherever to replace her. Seriously. The writing is on the wall; Toni wants him.

Title: Chapter 4: The Sting of Reality...

Whoa! Tess should not have slapped Jay. A verbal smack down would've been sufficient.

That wasn't cool for Tess to disappear without saying anything to Jay.

Jay should not have ignored everyone's warnings about Toni. He's still clueless about what's really happening.

Title: Chapter 21: Chapter 21 - Mirror, Mirror

Harsh. Way harsh, Rita.

What is Anthony telling Rita??

Anthony did not lose his way. Could Natalia have given him time to rectify the situation and come right to her? Maybe.

She should go to the party.

Author's Response:

Yeah, Rita ain't pullin' no punches.  Anthony is telling her quite a bit, but not everything.  More on that and whether Nat follows your advice and goes to the party next chapter.  Thanks JFJD!

Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5 - Rotten Trees, What Fruit They Bear

What the frak?! Anthony's grand gesture is nice but he didn't even know what she had going back in Texas. What if another man was there? Anthony disappeared without a word.

I love that Natalia is a pharmacist. I haven't run across many stories about us. :-)

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

I'm glad you like the pharmacist aspect of the story.

I know what you're saying about Anthony showing up unannounced at Nat's house.  He doesn't know her situation.  As it stands, he doesn't seemed terribly concerned either.  He came for his baby.  More on that next chapter.

Thanks for reading and commenting, JFJD!

Oh my gosh. Too much.

Anthony's mom had that coming but poor Anthony did not deserve to learn about his paternity that way. Rich told that hypocrite about herself. He is a good brother and friend. He has his priorities straight and is suprisingly people smart.

I await Richard's comeuppance.

Author's Response:

You're definitely not alone in wanting the see Richard suffer.  Rich is a wonderful brother, but it's going to be hard for Ant to see that for a while.  Hopefully they'll mend fences sooner rather than later.  Thanks JFJD!

I was not expecting this.

She needs to kick those people out of her house. They're sickening. They better pray she doesn't chase them with a knife a la Soul Food.

Title: Chapter 18: Chapter 18 - Victim of Deja Vu

I enjoyed this chapter. Natalia has finally started to wake up. Anthony is young but it is Natalia that needs to grow up. She needs to learn to communicate like an adult. She's a basket case letting everyone run roughshod over her.

I like her and Anthony together but she did the right thing. She did not like the way he was operating in the relationship so she told him to leave. That's fine. His excuses for lying to his family were weak. Perhaps it was not the right time to announce his relationship but it was shameful that he out right lied. Natalia does not have time for that.

Author's Response:

Thanks for reading and commenting, JFJD!  I agree that Nat needs to be better about communicating.  She was trying.  That conversation Ant refused to wait to have was going to be her attempt at being open and honest.  Unfortunately, things got out of hand before they could put their cards on the table.

Not sure what you meant by saying Nat's a basket case who lets everyone run roughshod over her.  She certainly allows her emotions to do that, but she hasn't given another peron control over her or her decisions.  Her family and friends give advice, but she seldom takes it.

I agree that the break up was the best thing and that the lie was a big, and unnecessary, mistake.  We'll see if they can work their way back from it.
