Compare and contrast, Lance, who has the outer trappings of being a gentleman, while Miles IS one, treating Shug as someone that he respects and cherishes. Lance, who uses words to denigrate and teardown Shug, while Miles uses words to affirm Shug. Her reaction to Chef, playfully, saying that he was mad at her was telling. That ex-husband of hers tried to do a real number on her.

Chef, that man makes sure that there in no ambiguity with Shug. whew

I see I'll have to add to my list of things not to have in my mouth when I'm reading this book, my dental appliance. That thing prevents me from laughing my ass off and screaming. Maybe, I just want put ANYTHING in my mouth when reading this. HA

Perfect chapter. I was howling. But, Helena is scaring me. This could've turned out so differently. She must not watch the crime shows on the ID channel. I hope that he used protection. She doesn't know what kind of diseases this dude might have. Reckless. I'm going to have to go back and re-read the previous chapters and pay closer attention to Helena. There's some sh!t going on with that girl that has nothing to do with Lory, it seems.

Yes, it is a mighty bitter pill, but one that he needed. I feel so bad for Miles. Rene did more harm than good by keeping this secret for so long. However, this was not going to be easy no matter when he spilled the beans, but he should've done it sooner for Miles' sake. Now, not only does Miles have to deal with the past but also what his current reality is since Rene finally told the truth. I'm hoping that Miles doesn't turn away from Sugar. No way, especially with a child on the way. That abandonment would be a repeat of what was done to him by his parental units.

Has Miles seen a therapist? With all of this piling on, he'll need some psychological help.

On a more real note, I don't care that Rene is in the hospital, I'd like to punch him in the throat. And bust Clara's kneecaps while I'm at it.

I really don't like Michael or any of his friends. They were complicit in the deceit. He can miss me with his self-righteousness. I mean, he did marry his side-piece. Shouldn't all be great in the garden? What a pig.

I haven't connected with Jason and I think that Emme needs to get as far away from these toxic group of people as possible. Those people are not her friends and I can't see them having her best interest at heart.

I'm really interested in finding out more about Brendan. I'm not sure why I'm so drawn to him. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a stalker. I just see him as someone who can't come to terms with his feelings for someone who his family would not approve, given his family's apparent history regarding black folks.  He's been carrying that torch for a very long time.

The stuff with Mrs. Chambers, now that's some deep and freaking stuff. I can't wait to find out what that is all about.

I'm enjoying this story. When Ethan appears before Mia, I hope Mia knocks his behind out. She's about to go thru some things. I guess Ethan knows now that he needs to control his wolf a little better. I want to punch him.

I'm glad that Mia talked to Beth in a reasonable and calmed manner. It just made what she said that much more devastating. Beth needs to internalize what Mia said in a real way. I'm not seeing it yet. Hopefully, Beth will be able to put herself in Mia's place and see how she would feel. That's something that it's not clear to me that she's done yet.

Ethan, still an ass. Will continue to be one in the forseeable future. I'm looking forward to his first interaction with Mia.

How is he even surprised at the response from his family. I'm with his father, he is not ready to be alpha.
