The "Picture Perfect" Challenge

iconHappy New Year from The Chamber! This month we’re challenge authors to write a story inspired by a photograph of their choosing. You can post your photo inside the story (no pictures in the summary please) and it can be of any person, place, or thing. Just as long as it’s family friendly and meets the submission rules guidelines for posting images on the site. Fan fiction or original story, it’s up to you.

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words. Are you up for the challenge?

June Character of the Month

Ororo Munroe

X-Men

 picture

Ororo Monroe is the descendant of an ancient line of African priestesses, all of whom have white hair, blue eyes, and the potential to wield magic. Her mother was an African princess who married an American photojournalist and moved to Manhattan where Ororo was born. The couple relocated to Cairo, Egypt, where they were killed when Ororo was five years old. Forced to survive on her own, she became a skilled thief and was caught picking the pocket of Professor Charles Xavier, a powerful telepath and leader of the X-Men.

Ororo’s ability to control the weather emerged during her time in Africa, where she was worshiped as a goddess for her gift. She was later recruited by Professor Xavier to join the X-Men and given the codename "Storm."
