Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 6. The mating game.

I love this story.  It reminds me of scandal characters Olivia and Fitz.  When you meet that special someone that you are instantly attracted to and just know what they mean to you.  In Scandal Fitz says" why was I such a coward to marry her and not wait for you. " That's how I feel about these characters.  I once heard that we pick and choose who to love and how much to love them.  In this case its the same but yet different.  They know going in with eyes open what they are doing but the attraction that pulls them together is a curse and blessing. It's a curse because he's married and unavailable to commit to her unless he is willing to lose everything he has gained.  Its a blessing because they have met each other and know what each other means to each other.  He is having doubts because he knows that he can't give her what she deserves (commitment and not being a mistress) unless he walks away from his current relationship and he is not ready to. He thinks she will leave and that scares him.

Title: Chapter 6: Chapter Five: When Even Our Best Intentions...

This chapter was inspired by a real life misunderstanding. A friend invited me out to a comedy show. She had free tickets, and invited about a dozen people to share the space. I was the first of her friends to show up, and didn't know anyone she'd invited. Well, there was this fine guy across the room. While she went to the restroom, I got busy making eye contact with this clean cut well dressed cutie. From the looks of things, he was with his coworkers. We exchanged a few smiles, and it was clear that we were both interested.

On her way back from the restroom, my friend ran into two of her friends who had finally shown up. No one else ever did. They were both guys, and I didn't think anything of it when she said we should alternate seats, so that I could get to know both of them. After all, I was new to the area, and eager to make friends. Just then, I glanced back over at my eye candy, and got the shock of my life when he looked at me as though I was the preacher's wife, and he'd caught me in the balcony with two deacons and a choir director. Needless to say, that didn't go anywhere. At the ended of the show, he ran out of there like a scalded cat, and I never saw him again. Oh, well. Yet another potential husband down the drain due to a misunderstanding, Lol!

Summary:

Formerly Fate and Coincidence (and by formerly I mean completely rewritten, my NaNoWriMo project)

A year abroad did nothing to help Cassandra Mitchell heal from the earth-shattering death of her on-again-off-again boyfriend. She did not think coming home to the familiarity of the Big City would do her much good either. But an encounter with Luke, be it a coincidence or destined by fate, on the flight home has her making more strides toward healing than any trip around the world ever could have. With the help of a new friend, Cassie finds herself again and perhaps something more.

Luke is a lawyer who spends too much time in the office; he's on the precipice of a big promotion. In every other way, Luke is a fairly laid-back person with a tendency to go with the flow. Running into Cassie presents an opportunity for Luke to get out of the office and experience life. However, his easy going demeanor may get him less than what he wants.
