Title: Chapter 7: Moral Compass
The game of cat and mouse was hilarious. I mean they were both checking each other out and didn't really realize it until their eyes connected. Sienna trying to figure out what side to be on was a very interesting concept because I think one doesn't always have to agree with their political perty but they themselves have to determine where they want to fall. Its like the difference between religion and state or a choice over who has a right to make a choice when it comes to a woman's body. Either way John and Sienna might not have been on the same side but the were essentially fighting for the same thing. Its why they bonded its why they feel in love and its why they hide from each other. I love the fact that you are giving Sienna and John more of a face as to how they met and they things they did to be around each other. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Author's Response: Oh wow I'm so glad you picked up my inference. Yes indeed at the core she may be loyal to her party, to Tom, to Bruce, to Jay but she does not always agree with their stand, their actions, their beliefs on certain issues. Loyalty is something that is valued above all in their world but the moment John entered the picture she began to question that loyalty?
Is it better to abstain from a fight because either side you pick will negatively affect someone? Is it better to ignore certain things and accept in other aspects for fear of upsetting the balance?
As a staffer she does not always get to be on the side of the fight that marries her ideals but if we understand the reasons to fight why would you ever choose to sit on the sidelines. It is a job that you must do, a responsibility that you must now shoulder because you are aware of the issue and cannot morally turn a blind eye to it.
They were no longer numbers and charts in her polling data and field reports, Sienna realized they were real people with real issues. More responsibility than she ever thought she would have to face and a greater opportunity for her to help, to effectuate change in a set of laws and rules she felt that did not protect her enough and shaped Bryan into an asshole.
I'm giving away too much in my ramblings but oh well
