How poetic. All the time I thought Valrie had the issues, when Henry's issues once revealed showed that she was the strongerr of the two. It's something about exhaling, dropping your guard and stepping out on that limb. Unafraid of the possiblity of falling hard for the opportunity to experience what hoped for, you dreamed of , prayed for. If she never sees him again, she should be happy that for the time she spent with him she was happy, she felt beautiful and desirable and loved.

Soooo....when I saw there was an update I was all *fist pump*...
When I read Henry open up to Valerie about his dad and his own insecurities, I shed a tear because I was like...they are letting their guard down around each other and falling in love...
When I read the sex scenes, I went and got a cold glass of iced tea and my portable fan...
When I read how he gave her the kitten named for him, I was back to my hopeless romantic phase feeling all warm and fuzzy inside at how he wanted her to have something that reminded her of him always...
But when I read those last few sentences about how he ignored her AGAIN for a whole damn month after what they shared after he damn near SWORE not to hurt her all I could scream at my laptop is...

First off, I have to say you write some of the best love/sex scenes I have ever read. Kudos to you because that is such a talent. The scenes do not detract from the story or wonder why the hell is this here.
Now on to Henry and Val. Please let Val stay strong and take those feelings and thoughts she had throughout this day to forge ahead in her own life.
Henry, what the hell happened. You almost slipped and said the I LOVE YOU phrase a couple of times to disappear like invisible ink the moment the day is up. Seriously you couldn't text back a Hello, is it me your looking for( in a Lionel Richie voice).
When he returns, she needs to let him sweat it out. I understand he has issues but you dragged her into them versus letting her be at the club and going your separate ways. Can't get a sister all hot and bothered on multiple occasions. HE knew SHE had emotional baggage from the get go.
I am dying for your next updates and see what he has to say for himself. He wasn't seen with any female during those 4 weeks, was he. Specifically someone Pat tried to hook him up with recently.
FYI, you know I read this last chapter like 3 times. Time for some cold water, I'm feeling a little parched.

I still don't trust Pat. If she didn't mean anything by her statements, why did she pointedly make them to a woman she just met. If I were to gush about how well a fix up was going, I'd do it with someone I already knew. I think she's just re-grouping and trying to get inside Val's head. Good job by Val for putting her in her place. I love the way they are slowly opening up to one another.

Good to see Valerie letting her walls down. She wasn't worried about other women, how the group would receiving her. I'm glad she's happy. Hopefully she can make this into a habit and truly let go of her demons

Also, maybe as a model, Rhea knows all about body dysmorphia and would be someone Valerie can actually relate to. She needs a friend who isn't exasperated with her like Ella. I never understood Ella forcing Valerie to go out if she didn't want to anyway. I mean, I'm glad she met Henry, it wasn't cool to make her go to functions where she would be the third wheel. It probably only contributed to her being so insular.

Well, I'm glad Valerie showed a little backbone this chapter. I think it would have been fine to leave the other half of the 'too long' chapter. The musings in the first half were a little longwinded...
I don't know why, like, if it's that I have some strong sense of loyalty to Valerie, but I wanted to choke Pat when she tried to push Rhea on Henry. I was like, "DIE, PAT!" I'm glad Rhea is cool though. She seems like she could be a good friend to Valerie that doesn't have knowledge of all her immense baggage - kind of like a fresh start without the worries of a romantic entanglement.

I love your story--it is so good that I go right to the new update, with no review of the last update.
Val--I think she handled herself well, with his friends and her mom. She does need to remember she is worthy of love and I don't care if she has to tell herself this every morning.
Henry--is smitten with Val, but can still be turned by a pretty face (it didn't bother Val, so...). I think if he was really into Rhea he'd have cut Val loose.
Pat--well. Val is going to have to call her on her rudenessit, but she has to know where she stands with Henry. Val can still and should demand respect.
Rhea--she's attracted to Henry, but I think she can see for herself that he is not that into her and that's why she's uncomfortable with what Pat is doing.
As long as Henry has those kittens he won't be able to forget Val and as far as I am concern, he can be a nomad since Val hates her job anyways. Love your updates adnthey are long--thank you.
