Franklin, I hope both your clubs burn down while you're inside. How is this physically possible you ask? You'll have been chopped - in half. Franklin is such a lame name anyway. Good riddance.

Gabriel, where were you in this chapter? I'd like to see you lovin' on Honey or something. Or at least professing your love. I definitely missed the romance while reading this chapter but I must say I'm looking forward to Albert and Sugar's next interaction. A little forbidden fornication perhaps...?

Title: Acceptable Lies

HO-LEE-CRAP. I am nearly at a loss for words. My heart was just on little roller coaster during this chapter.

1. What the hell, Franklin?! Why are you such a creepo perv? I swear I was going to flip out if he tried to touch Honey. The whole time before Gabriel arrived I was like, "Where is Gabriel, where is Gabriel, where is Gabriel...!"

2. Well, surprise, surprise, who knew Audrey was so liberal and open to being mongamish? Albert is still a creepo rapist though, even if he does have the tiniest bit of permission from his wife.

3. THE RETURN OF BRUCE WALLACE! Fantastic. It's good that Sugar finally has a sane man in her life. If she screws this up I will both want to slap and feel pity for her. I hope Bruce will love her as much as Gabriel loves Honey.

Whew. That was a lot to get out. This is one of this story's best chapters. Keep it rolling, Bren.

Title: Regret

Ugh, Tam and Jayden should have set some ground rules and had a grownup chat before he introduced himself to the kids. Children need ground rules! Now they're thinking he'll get them in trouble! That was a terrible first impression!

Oh, man, I was flipping out when Jayden said, "Oh, I don't need my meds. They make me feel weird. I can do this all by myself!"

I was like, "Yeah, Jayden, you need to get over that shit. Like, quick. You have to be the best father you can be to your kids and if meds help you do that then you need to suck it up. You're wearing fucking latex gloves and you can't hug your daughter. Looks like she's developing an unhealthy obession of her own.... Ever heard of leading by example? Stop catering to your uninformed insecurities about prescription medication, fool." Ugh, I don't know why but he made me so mad with that stuff!

I want to see some more Tam and Jayden sexy time. However, I guess he has to fully make amends for being a complete jerk. So far, he's walking back into her life with a free pass. Nothing about this has been really difficult for him other than having to take a trip out of town with his disease. He was bound to do that eventually with or without Tam in his life. He's made no real accommodations.

Well, Brenda, alas, you have me hooked. I'm raving and raging about this chapter and I'm rabid for the next one. Write on, girl, write on.

Sexy times are coming down the road. You can bet on that. Coming to Va was a big deal for Jayden because he hasn't left his hometown since Mexico City. I thought the latex was hilarious. Jayden is trying to adjust the best he can, and yes the good doctor gave him meds for a reason. Don't worry, he's going to have to use them if he wants to make it through the week. LOL

As for the kids, Tam tried to explain to the their father's condition, but she hadn't been around Jayden in ten years and her knowledge was limited on his condition. She's been reading up on it since she went to New Haven.

Like most girls, Dana wanted a father and now that she has him, she wants to fix him. Tam is going to keep her in check, though and there will be no oil pouring any time soon. LOL .

Believe it or not, I'm a little mad at Jayden. Whether he wanted to be reasonable in family seting or not, he should have anticipated that amount of resistance from his parents and should have lawyered up himself. A person who really knew anything about wealth and business and cared about taking care of their family would have had a designated Power of Attorney or trustee for his assets before he stepped out of the rental car in New Haven. It's the same thing as his hesitation to take the pills; he doesn't recognize when he really needs support. It's a well written character flaw that Brenda has exploited well.

Imagine if Jayden died because of his fall or a collision with a drunk driver and Nancy wasn't feeling so remorseful? Jay and Dana could have been totally screwed out of any of their father's legacy the day they turned eighteen. Really, Jayden? Fail.

I love the kids' faith in their Dad. Like, it is majorly endearing. I would have been cursing Jayden's name. Hell, I already am. Sigh. I'm just glad this didn't turn into an amnesia or attempted murder plot.

You are right, Tens. Jayden was just floating along allowing life to just happen until the kids came into the picture. Once he left Va. to return to New Haven, he was going to try to get his business in order, but look at what happened. He made his the company a lot of money, but his parents were still controlling the business. A lot of things are going to change. More is coming soon!

Oh, my Lord, that was amazing! Oh, my man, I love Dana so much! I want one! I want a kid just like her when I'm a real grown up! She reminds me so much of Sen from "Spirited Away." She's got that same sort of diligent spirit of someone's who has had to mature to protect those she loves.

It's hurtful, but in the long run it doesn't really justify not telling him you were pregnant. It's like, "Just grow up, Tam." Now she's trying to keep the kids from their grandparents who are trying to make up for their mistakes? It's not like she can't supervise all their visits. Also, maybe as a model, Rhea knows all about body dysmorphia and would be someone Valerie can actually relate to. She needs a friend who isn't exasperated with her like Ella. I never understood Ella forcing Valerie to go out if she didn't want to anyway. I mean, I'm glad she met Henry, it wasn't cool to make her go to functions where she would be the third wheel. It probably only contributed to her being so insular.

Well, I'm glad Valerie showed a little backbone this chapter. I think it would have been fine to leave the other half of the 'too long' chapter. The musings in the first half were a little longwinded...

I don't know why, like, if it's that I have some strong sense of loyalty to Valerie, but I wanted to choke Pat when she tried to push Rhea on Henry. I was like, "DIE, PAT!" I'm glad Rhea is cool though. She seems like she could be a good friend to Valerie that doesn't have knowledge of all her immense baggage - kind of like a fresh start without the worries of a romantic entanglement.

Title: Chapter 23: QUESTION

I think a chapter from Henry's point of view at this point in the story would be inconsistent. So far, you've done well revealing his past through conversations and the like. Perhaps it would be difficult to do so again, but stylistically it would be preferable to changing the point of view this late in the game.

Showing the reader what you want to reveal about Henry through another character's experience makes a more interesting read for the reader. You have to come up with a plausible and dynamic situation in which Henry could reveal his past. That makes for exiting, must-read scenes.

Ugh, screw Carter. He has no charisma. I want Sasha back in Dmitri's arms after he begs and pleads to have her back. Like, on his knees, grovelling, tears - the works. Also, I want to know more about the waitress friend, Dominic, Dmitri's best friend, and their little love triangle. What was with that arranged marriage thing?

I'm glad to see them moving on in the future. Sasha seems to have grown in a lot of different ways which is great for the story. I'd like to see Dmitri grow as well. What can I say? I'm a little bit of a traditionalist and I want a fluff, HEA ending.

Title: Chapter 12: Chapter 11

Are you kidding me? I loved the long love scene! It was tres steamy! Also, this chapter gave some neat insight into how Sasha is handling clearly combative relationships now that she's trying to do better at standing up for herself. She thought of the worst lie to tell Nadia and didn't share her concerns with with Dmitri. This can only lead to some drama. I'm glad Teagan is around to help Sasha navigate the crazy.

Maybe Slade will help Dmitri be a good boyfriend or the diner friend will tell Sasha what she does and doesn't have to put up with. Oh, man, I'm so excited for the next chapter. This one was so much more intimate than the others (and not just because of the love scene); it was more the morning after. Great job!

Thank you, it was the first love scene I've ever written besides the morning quickie they had. ;-) Yes, Sasha is definitely growing as a person but she will go through some major setbacks as the story continues.
